1951 Barndoor Ambulance

1951 Barndoor 10 Window Meisen Ambulance

Here is a rare one, a pre-rear window, January 1951, 10 Window Kombi that was formerly a Miesen Ambulance many years ago.  It is believed to be the oldest Ambulance known.

This semi-custom Bus is super stylish and has loads of very cool early features including cast VW emblems front and rear, piano hinge vent wing windows, short e-brake, flat-lensed bubble taillights, single reflector, ribbed semaphores, pre-rear bumper, "upside down" speedo, dual fuse boxes, upward mount mirror, correct Barndoor doors, seamed doglegs, early large license light decklid, Barndoor safari windows, 6 popout windows with long spoon latches, and much more!

The Bus was previously featured in Airmighty Magazine and received special recognition at a European show it attended as well.  A copy of the magazine will come with the Bus in the sale.

Mechanically it is a driver with a good running 2110cc engine, straight axle transmission, narrowed center-steer front beam, 12 volt electrical conversion, Porsche 944 front disc brakes, and beautiful polished Porsche Fuch's alloy wheels with low profile tires.
This is a rare opportunity to own such an extremely early Barndoor Bus that is enjoyable today.  Thanks!
