1955 Oval Beetle!

1955 Ultra Maroon Oval Beetle, Exceptional Restoration!

Here is an exceedingly nice and fresh 1955 Oval Beetle that was completely restored by the talented Humberto Lapa.  The quality is way above average, it's very faithful to original, and as stock as they come, too.

The list of details to note is long and includes the rare and very lovable color of L276 Ultra Maroon, semaphore turn signals, heart taillights, batwing steering wheel, ribbed doors, European headlights, Kilometers per hour speedometer, 36hp engine, split case transaxle, and correctly two-toned smoothie wheels with US Royal bias ply tires, too.

The paint and body is gorgeous, the chrome is beautiful, and the car was treated to a thorough body-off-pan restoration just over 1100 careful miles ago.  The inside of the fenders, the inside of the trunk, the engine compartment, the suspension, and the underside are all just as clean and nicely detailed as the topside of this 1955.  No shortcuts were taken, a lot of attention to detail, and a whole lot of pride went into this restoration, and it absolutely shows.

The interior is very faithful to the original as well with the correct beige cloth upholstery, mohair headliner, batwing steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest horn button, German square weave carpeting with the aluminum heater vent rings, straight shifter, and the heater control knob behind the emergency brake handle.  Simply stunning, accurate, and fresh!

Mechanically this Oval has been extensively restored including the remarkably accurate 1192cc 36hp engine, split case transaxle, stock suspension and braking, and the restored 15 inch wheels with bias ply tires as it would have worn when it was new 64 years ago.  Faithfulness to original was important when this one was restored, avoiding updates and free styling, making this one the one to own for the purists who love them the way they were back in the day.

This car has enjoyed being on display in one of the most remarkable Vintage Volkswagen collections in North American for the last few years, holding its own in company of some truly world class cars!

Here's your chance to own a gorgeous and exceptional early Oval Beetle that any Volkswagen collector would be proud to own.  You simply cannot find a better example for the money and you'll enjoy a tremendous savings in comparison to the cost of having another car professionally restored to this level.  Thanks!

Please note this 1955 is located in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
