1956 Ford Pickup Truck!

1956 Ford Big Window Truck, Traditional Hot Rod Style!

Here's a very cool, timeless, and desirable Big Window Ford Truck that is in great condition, has a traditional hot rod style, and has a truly unbelievable story behind it, too.

The owner bought the Truck from the original owner back in 1967 and by 1972 he had it customized to his liking.  Shortly thereafter, the unthinkable happened, and his Truck was stolen from him!  Fast forward to a phone call that he received 38 years later when the police called him to notify him that they'd just recovered his Truck nearly four decades later!  What are the odds of that happening?  At any rate, it's true, he kept the original title all those years, and his Truck was returned to him.  It was such a high-interest story that it made the rounds on several local Los Angeles television news stations including channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, and 11 back in 2010.

Here's a video link that gives some details on the recovery of his prized Truck...!/news/local/Stolen-Truck-Returned-38-Years-Late/96698854

The Truck itself is very nice, not a show car, but very respectable in its own right.  Super solid, mildly customized in a tasteful fashion, and some light hot rod touches, too.

The body is very clean as you can see and is atypically dry for what they usually look like.  There was some typical rust at the rear of the running boards where they attach to the rear fenders and you can see the patches from the inside.  There are some stone chips and other small imperfections around but the Truck looks great for a driver.

Mechanically it features a 292 Ford Y block engine with a 4 barrel carb.  Other details to not include the 3 speed manual trans with overdrive, power steering, power disc brakes, Volare front end, stock rear end, new shocks, new tires and wheels, and a brand new exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds back which includes new Flomaster mufflers which sound great.  Additionally the steering column was shortened 5 inches and the seat was shortened 3 inches, too.  It is a good running and driving Truck that has a lot of eyeball, too.  Thanks!

Please note that this cool old Truck is located in the Los Angeles, California area.
