1959 Single Cab, Grey

1959 Single Cab, L345 Light Grey, Fresh And Clean Truck!

Here's a nicely and freshly completed early Single Cab in a much-loved and not-often-seen factory commercial model color of Light Grey (L345). Commercial Buses from 1959 thru 1961 were offered in Dove Blue, Sealing Wax Red, and Light Grey. The vast majority of them were Dove Blue, a small fraction were Sealing Wax Red, and by far the least common was Light Grey.

This Truck has a long list of features including safari windows, an excellent running 1600 dual port engine, rebuilt big nut transaxle, 12 volt electrics, slightly oversized and aggressive BFGoodrich All Terrain tires, working heat, fresh commercial interior, and KdF pinwheel hubcaps, too. The doors and ignition are also keyed alike which is another nice feature.

The body is clean, dry, and required an unusually small amount of prior to the repaint. The gates, bed, rockers, belly, floors, and underside are impressively clean and solid and even the underside is nicely and freshly painted. There are some tiny dings and dents in the original truck bed metal but it was so nice and original that it was retained. The icepick doors, church key decklid, fat lip doglegs, flat wheel wells, slash cut bumpers, and 8/59 dated 15 inch slotted Bus wheels are all correct for the Truck as well. Other details to note include the all new window and body rubber, grommets, gate bumpers, etc.

The interior is also super clean, fresh, and new with a black commercial seat cover, fresh paneling, new early rubber floor mat, refinished speedometer, and a nice original dash, too. You'll have a hard time finding a cleaner original style interior than this on an early Truck.

Mechanically this Single Cab is a turnkey driver with an excellent running 1600 dual port engine, rebuilt big nut transaxle with heavy duty side covers,12 volt converted electrical system, new battery, and near-new BFGoodrich All Terrain radial tires in 215/75/15. They are mounted on a correct set of 8/59 dated 15 inch Bus wheels and topped with custom powdercoated KdF pinwheel hubcaps with paint detailed logos in Sealing Wax Red. The heat works excellently with stock 1600 heater boxes, the choke functions correctly, and the Truck only has approximately 25 miles on it since completion.

Here's your chance to land a fresh, respectable, and fun Single Cab that was completed less than a month ago.
