1964 21 Window Project!

Early 1964 21 Window Walkthru Deluxe Microbus Project!

Here is a genuine 1964 21 Window Bus that has been off the road for decades, potentially since the late 1970's based upon the state inspection stickers on the windows.  It was recently discovered stored indoors in a barn in Arkansas, it's been dusted off inside and out, and it has a fresh New Hampshire title in the current owner's name.

Details to note on this Bus include:

*Early 1964 with pull style cab door handles

*Factory Walkthru

*Factory 6 Popout Windows

*Partly Original Sealing Wax Red and Light Beige Grey Paint, partly very old respray

*Original M code plate intact, ID plate in place, original stamped VIN number clearly legible, original paint code decal intact, original belly pans still there, and the Title matches the VIN.

The body is in fair shape, is impressively straight, has some rust in the usual spots, and has several spots that are often rusty that aren't that bad.  The roof has rust that is worst in the lower skylight openings, there are rusty spots in the floors, and some spots on the belly pans, too.  The front floor isn't that bad, mostly just the outer corner wedges, the driver's dogleg, and the perimeter of the cargo floor.  The rockers are surprisingly solid for being original and the inner wheel wells and underside is actually impressive for the most part.  All of the doors including the pull handle front doors, the cargo doors, church key engine lid, and early apron are correct for the Bus, too.  The passenger's lower door hinge has detached from the door so it will need to be rewelded to work properly.  Additionally the original Deluxe aluminum body trim and rocker spears are all still in place.  The sunroof is incomplete, it comes with 6 of the 8 original skylight windows, it will need a few pieces of glass, and what you see is what is included in the sale.  There are no other parts that come with it besides what you see.  Another cool thing is that since it's a 1964 it still has the 15 inch slotted Bus wheels as well.

The interior includes the original front walk thru seat frames, the original 80mph speedo, the original Deluxe dash clock, and the rear side window jail bars are there but not the rear.  The steering wheel is quite nice, thick, and the finger nubs are nice and full still as it's been out of circulation for such a long time.

Mechanically it will need a thorough revival as it's likely been off the road for over 40 years.  The engine is an F case single port, was in it when it was found, it spins freely by hand, and the internal condition is unknown.  The transaxle is a generationally appropriate tunnel case reduction box unit, the suspension and brakes are stock, and the tires are good and roll freely, too.

This genuine original early 21 Window Walkthru will make a great canvas for anything from reviving and running as a rat Bus, to doing localized welding and paint blending as necessary and running as a patina driver, or a full tilt restoration as it has the DNA that makes it worth the effort.  Hard to find a real factory 21 Walkthru that isn't absolute abused trash for less than this price!  Thanks!

Please note this 21 Window is located in New Hampshire.
