SOLD!  1965 21 Window, Nice Original Sea Blue and Blue White Survivor Bus!

1965 21 Window Deluxe Bus, Original Sea Blue and Blue White Paint!

This beautiful 21 Window Survivor is one for the purists who enjoy original paint, mild patina, and a Bus in its true essence and original livery. It's not often that you find such a well-preserved early Deluxe with such great presentation as this so don't miss your chance as it's priced affordably and is undoubtedly a great and very respectable Bus for the price.

The Bus features over 90% original paint, complete and original Salt and Pepper interior, completely dialed mechanicals including new bias ply tires, fresh 1641cc engine, 12 volt conversion, and it is driven and enjoyed regularly by the current owner.

The body is in exceptional condition, very solid, extremely straight, and it's as honest as it gets with over 90% of the original Sea Blue and Blue White paint still holding strong. The wheel wells were expertly repaired and blended which accounts for the majority of the approximately 10% of non-original paint. You cannot detect the repairs from inside the wheel wells as the job was done very well. Additionally the passengers dogleg was replaced as it had a odd crinkle in it from some small "parking lot" type incident. A Gerson dogleg was installed at the factory seams and it was paint blended as well. The rockers, jack points, and original belly pans are in excellent shape and show how nice and dry a Arizona and California past this Bus had prior to its move to Missouri back in 2007. Additionally the roof is in excellent shape with strong original paint, beautiful gutters, and extremely nice and dry skylight areas as well. The worst spot on the body is the front of the cargo floor at the divider wall where there is some heavy surface rusting and rust perforation. The rear heater "log" underneath the rear seat was also removed long ago and a nice original replacement will accompany the Bus. The Bus is perfectly enjoyable as it is but those areas would be something to repair and blend or address somewhere in the very distant future if you have plans of an eventual restoration.

The interior is also in great shape with original Salt and Pepper paneling, great original seats, and an impressive but not mint original headliner that is showing its age. The dash is original paint and a previous owner enlarged the radio hole and drilled some odd holes near the ash tray to apparently mount a compass. The seats are all very nice original Salt and Pepper upholstery although the front has been reupholstered in an excellent reproduction cover and the middle seat is technically from a 1967 but that is definitely getting into picky details. Overall the interior is complete, super original, comfortable, and has excellent presentation.

Mechanically the Bus is fully dialed in and enjoyed by the collector owner on a regular basis. His goal was to make it a reliable and truly roadworthy driver and it is exactly that. It features a fresh and great looking 1641 cc single port engine, a 12 volt electrical conversion for added reliability and brighter lights, fresh brakes, and new and spendy BF Goodrich white stripe bias plies mounted on restored stock 14 inch Bus wheels with correct original trim rings and topped off with beautiful chrome hubcaps.

This is a great Bus in exceptional original condition, complete, fully gone through, and ready to hit the road. No need to worry about rot and body filler surfacing as what you see is what you get which is the major upside of original paint survivors. Thanks!
