1967 Westy SO42 Camper!

1967 Westfalia SO42 Camper Bus, Walkthru, Pearl White, Super Clean and Solid!

This extremely clean original California black-plated Pearl White Westy was owned for many years by an elderly submariner who lived in Point Loma, California, and was very well taken care of during his decades of ownership.  Over 12 years ago, it was purchased by an advanced early Bus collector who had it as part of his large collection and it was driven sparingly during his ownership.  The current owner is another early Bus collector and he has continued the tradition of great care and minimal mileage during his ownership.

Some of the many features include the recent respray in the original color of Pearl White, being a highly desirable factory Walkthru Bus, exceptionally clean interior with incredibly nice original Westfalia flooring in the back, original California black license plates that are registered to the Bus, factory 12 volt electrics, correct pointed end bumpers in great shape, rare Competition Motors dealership license plate frame, albeit cracked, original Blaupunkt in-dash radio, and much more!

The body of this Westy is very nice, clean, dry, solid, and super presentable.  The roof and gutters are phenomenal, the nose is excellent, the sides are factory straight, corners are great, and the bod gaps are exceptional as well.  All of the doors, decklid, apron, bumpers, and wheels are correct and original for 1967.  This Bus is way above average, about as nice as you might want to drive with regularity these days.

The interior is very clean, faithful to the original design, and features correct Mesh Grey upholstery on the front seats, fresh kick and door panels, while the cab roof panels are still the originals and in excellent shape for their 50 years!  Other details to note are the correct original jumpseat for the Walkthru section, original and nice spice rack, folding tables, headbanger cabinet, rear Z bed, and very clean mustard upholstery on the cushions, too.

Mechanically the Bus is a driver with a 1600cc engine, stock reduction box transaxle, factory 12 volt electrics, and original 14 inch Bus wheels, too.  The Bus is a driver and recently received a mechanical servicing including new brakes, a tune up, and a set of brand new BFGoodrich 7.00-14 white stripe bias ply tires which really bring back the vintage feel of the Bus and how it would have been when it was new half a century ago.

Overall this is an excellent example of a SO42 Westfalia Camper.  They are rarely as clean, solid, complete, and as pretty as this one.  If you've been waiting for a great one to come along at a sensible price, you need to take a close look at this one!  Thanks!

Please note that this beautiful 1967 is located in North San Diego County, California.
