1968 Dodge Sportsman Van

1968 Dodge Sportsman Van, Super Retro Cruiser, Mostly Original Paint!

Here's a very fun and solid blast from the past!  This very tidy and straight 1970's style Dodge Van has all the period appropriate touches of the height of the Van Era including:

*Halibrand style Wheels with 3 spoke knockoff center caps
*Fresh Bias Ply Tires
*Glass Pack Exhaust
*Awesome matching turquoise Custom Camper Style Interior that has been there forever
*Legendary 225 cubic inch "Slant 6" Engine that runs well
*3-On-The-Tree Transmission
*Mostly Original Turquoise Paint with some blending as was needed

It has a great vintage appeal and brings back memories of surf vans that were so fashionable throughout the 1970's.

The body is in nice shape, is still displaying the vast majority of the original paint, and the paint is still strong. Even the roof is nice, not faded through, and the paint could very easily be polished out to a more brilliant shine.  There were some small repairs and blends done as needed including a few small rust spots that were taken care of recently.  Additionally there is a very helpful door-actuated side step that assists passengers when the cargo door is opened.  Overall it is very straight, presentable, and certainly can continue to be enjoyed as it is.

The interior is a super retro blast from the past, has been like it is likely since it was nearly new, and features a slightly "camperized" feel to it.  There are some storage cabinets, the very nice seats in matching upholstery, a sink with some vintage water tanks down below, clean and matching color-coordinated components throughout including the excellent original dash, paneling, clean carpeting, a vintage gas heater, some period storage racks and jars on the cargo doors, and the Van has loads of popout windows for plenty of ventilation on warm days, too.

Mechanically it is a good driver, reliable, and saw some servicing not long ago as well.  The 225 Slant 6 Engine starts right up, features a Holley carb, runs well, and has plenty of power, too.  The 3 on the tree transmission is another blast from the past and works nicely.  The exhaust has a 1970's era-appropriate glass pack, has a little rumble to it like the style of the era, and produces that old school gurgle when you let off the gas!  The wheels are very nice Halibrand style mags and have excellent and expensive Coker bias ply tires with the super cool pie crust edges on them to round out the retro appeal.  I have a video of the van running and driving that I can text to any seriously interested parties as well.

This Van has a great retro vibe and the mild hop-up and style touches that were so popular back in the day.  Thanks!
