1970 Chevy Camaro!

1970 Chevrolet Camaro, Supercharged Sleeper!

Here is a very respectable and one-family-owned 1970 Chevy Camaro that is not only an original California car but this one never even left San Diego County!  The car is as solid as they come, has always been well cared for, always garaged, and it shows.  We believe that the 116,000 miles showing on the odometer is the correct original mileage.  It was purchased brand new back in 1970 by the grandmother, given to her son approximately 10 years ago and saw the refreshing and quality hot rodding under his watch, and was given to the granddaughter most recently.

At a quick glance, it's very easy to underestimate this beast due to its relatively tame stock appearance.  However, I can assure you that it's truly a wolf in sheep's clothing as anyone who dismisses this car as "Grandma's Bingo Shuttle" is in for a rude awakening.  The traction bars and the high pitch whine of the supercharger are the only real clues you'll get as to this Camaro's true muscle!

The extensive and very well-designed mechanical upgrades are centered around a Chevy Performance Vortec Ram Jet 350 cubic inch V8 crate engine with a Pro-Charger Supercharger that boasts in the range of 450-500 horsepower.  The transmission is a 700R4 4 speed automatic with lockup and overdrive and the rear end is a 3:42 geared positraction with Auburn limited slip and upgraded axles, too.  Other details to note include custom computer programming by AZ Speed and Marine, closed loop with O2 sensor, fuel management unit with boost register, high flow fuel pump, newer fuel tank, new leaf springs, traction bars, newer aluminum radiator, and a quality dual exhaust system with Hooker Headers.  This setup is beautifully designed, clearly thought out, and is both brutal and perfectly streetable at the same time!

The body is in very good condition, is rust free, and saw one respray in the factory Mulsanne Blue some years ago.  It still displays nicely and is very respectable for a driver.  All of the glass is original, the trunk and floors are as solid as can be, and the chrome still shines nicely, too.

The interior was refreshed as necessary some years back but still is largely original including such details as the original steering wheel, the Delco radio (not currently working), and the original owner's manual is still in the glove box!  A ignition timing adjustment dial, oil pressure gauge, and water temp gauge were all added on the underside of the dash which are the only real deviations from the way the inside of this Camaro looked back in 1970.

I had the pleasure of taking a spin in this cool sleeper last weekend and can tell you it was a blast!  With the power plant so neatly tucked under the hood absolutely nobody on the road guessed that this car had such potential to plant you firmly in your seat, light the tires all the way down the street, and accelerate like a plane thrusting down the runway.

The car was also recently inspected, serviced, and dialed-in by San Diego Supercharger and is ready to rock with a new owner.  Thanks!
